I am a registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist and dance teacher. I have experience of working in both mental health and community settings. I have worked with clients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, stress related issues, anxiety and self-confidence issues after trauma. I have operated in both group and one on one situations.
I base my practice on a combination of verbal and non-verbal psychotherapy, primarily using dance and movement to communicate emotions. I use my African heritage and its dance, music, song and storytelling as beneficial therapeutic aids to communication when talking about difficult issues.
I am a registered member of ADMP which serves to uphold professional and clinical ethical standards within the profession of Dance Movement Psychotherapy. ADMP oversees the professional codes of conduct for the profession.

Therapeutic Dance with Cecilia Willis
I run a weekly Therapeutic Dance class at City Balance. Dance has the potential to bring us joy, heals us and brings people together. These classes will encourage members to build their self-esteem, confidence and wholistic wellbeing.
The class will explore where they want to be, where they want to go, their fears, their dreams, their challenges. This cohesive group will encourage each person to move forward onto the next step – whether it be seeking new jobs; furthering their education; or taking more control over the direction of their lives. Let’s Dance, Laugh, Cry and Repeat.
