I am an antenatal teacher with The Daisy Foundation ™. I deliver our yoga-based antenatal birthing classes as well as Active Birth workshops for mums-to-be and their partners.
Antenatal and Active birth education is delivered through a move to improve format, to make confident birth second nature through practice (such as the all-important movement and breathing techniques) which in turns builds muscle memory, so over the course of the 6 weeks the techniques become inherent, helping towards achieving a more comfortable and confident birth. We support all birth choices: classes are not just about active birth; they are designed to support mums with all birth choices such as those wishing to use pain relief or an elective caesarean by giving them the toolkit to manage their bodies and minds on the day for a more comfortable and enjoyable birth.
Daisy Birthing® classes are inspired by movement, birth breathing education, relaxation (specifically designed to address birth fears) antenatal and active birth education to promote a more positive pregnancy and to enable mums to be prepared for birth. Our aim is to promote a more enjoyable pregnancy by taking mums through a range of yoga based moves and sequences which aid many of the pregnancy ailments such as carpal tunnel and they are suitable and adapted for all mums, no matter of shape, size or any medical contra-indications.
